Lazy Summer Paint Job

The hot Summer months often means staying indoors during the hottest parts of the day. As a result, I’ve been purging and redecorating. When I redecorate, I usually re-imagine the things I already own.
I purchased a stand up rolling tool chest at a yard sale this summer for $25. I envisioned using it to corral all the tools and craft supplies that I have lying around into one neat contraption.
The only problem is that the tool chest was not flowing with my space. The colors had seen better days. I also didn’t want to spend one million hours taping it up for some fancy painting process. Lazy Summer Jennie is lazy, ok?
So, this is what I did to brighten it up!

After sanding it down I spray painted it blue.

Then I searched my stuff for some pretty craft paints and found three lovely colors. When the spray paint was dry I went crazy making brush strokes, splattering and drizzling the entire thing with ย craft paint.

Now I have this gorgeous thing sitting next to my refrigerator, glamming the whole place up!

We actually got so much new storage space that I now have room for my makeup in the upper drawers too!

Stay tuned for an upcoming space where I address the question I am most commonly asked: How do you store so much stuff in such a small space without it seeming stuffed or cramped?

Have fun!
